The Dodecanese is a group of islands in the eastern Aegean comprising Astypalea, Leros, Lipsi, Nysiros, Kalymnos, Karpathos, Kastellorizo, Kos, Patmos, Rhodes, Tilos and Chalki.

This is an excellent cruising area with yacht bases at Rhodes and Kos, two islands easily accessible by direct flights from several European cities. The area is rich in history, classical and Byzantine monuments and the waters are gloriously clear and blue.
